If you have St. Aug grass, almost none of the nutsedge is recommended for it and the 1-2 that say they are "safe" suck at their 1 job.

Image Crabgrass, Nutsedge, and Weed Killer will get the job done. Follow the label directions, and spot treat on St. Augustine. You must water it in after application.

Sedge ender - instead of SedgeHammer would be a more powerful version of what Deerdude suggested.

Certainty is the only thing I've had that actually kills it, but even then it is a constant war.

The Sedge Ender and everything you get at Home Depot type places has done very little in my experience.

I used Image to kill off a patch earlier in the summer. I sprayed weekly for 4 weeks, but it killed all of the nutsedge. A week ago, I spotted some sprouting near where I previously killed it. One spray this time killed all of it. I don't know if the almost 5" of recent rain helped speed along the kill, but I was shocked at how quickly it died versus how long it took during the summer.

Dismiss. 1 treatment killed it all

Sedgehammer

Sedgehammer is the only thing that's made a dent in it in my experience. Not a one shot kill. 2-3 treatments a few weeks apart will really knock it back though. YMMV but I didn't have issues with my St Aug. Everything at HD was really awesome in that it made my sedge grow faster but nuked my St Aug
