We stayed part of last week in an AirbnB about 20 miles outside of Concan on the Dry Frio River. It was a great place but remote and too isolated for us. Anyone have any recommendations for places closer to towns --Camp Wood, Barksdale, Leakey, Concan--closer to town and on a river waterfront?

Neal's Lodges is great. More on the rustic side, but best swimming hole on the river. The dining hall is delicious (easy walk) and they have dances many nights.

I really like these two properties

River Bluff Cabins is a lot of fun and semi close to leakey.

Frio River escape is between Leakey and Concan and similar to River Bluff

Listing on AirBNB is called River Haven. It is on FM 1051 off US83 about 3 mile past Concan going towards Uvalde. It is about 20 miles in with 1051 ending about 15 miles in and reduced to a private ranch road.

I am not sure but the River Walk in San Antonio is fairly close to there. Plenty of things going on for you to enjoy. Just about an hour and half closer East for most people. Also that river is never dry!
