Didn't see one yet, so I'll get it started.

Both of the boys have one in the freezer. Guess it's my turn. The buck was definitely high and back, but he hit the aorta so he only went 30 yards. Buck was down in a water hole and turned to climb out as he was releasing. I was worried as hell it was gut shot, but he crashed hard not far away

A 160" walked out right at dark while we were waiting to get out of the tree. I have a date with him Friday

Congrats! Good pics. Where yall hunting? Looks further north.

High and back is way more lethal than low and back. Back of lungs and liver versus stomach.

I hope to get me and my youngest on the board this week.

Had a couple random pics of this buck last fall.

He showed back up in August for a few velvet pics.

Saturday he reappeared at 7:15am.

Then late but again 10:00am Sunday

Monday he wasnt on camera but I called my dad and said lets plan on sitting for the next three mornings. Ive figured out over the years that if you give a buck 3-4 mornings in a row and sit the full morning, your odds go way up. Taking random stabs at the days seems to drastically decrease odds.

Yesterday we sat until 10:30am. Saw a bunch of deer, but nothing of any size.

Today, day two. Guess Im getting old and lazy because I was already dragging and it's not even November. 7:15am. First feed time goes off, an old doe winds us and spends 10 minutes dealing out maximum drama before finally moving on.

8:15 feed. About 5 minutes passes and I hear slow footsteps in the oak leaves. I finally get a glimpse 90 degrees to my right and it's him. Upwind and working a scrape at about 60 yards. Dad can't hear much so we've worked out some hand signals over the years that mean "BIG F'ing Deer, Dont Move!"

Buck finished at the scrape and starts slowly our way. Stops at the next scrape for what seems like forever. Finishes there and starts to ease off the other direction. About that time, a young unsuspecting buck comes bebopping towards the feeder to get his breakfast. Big boy doesnt like it and starts moving in. Bristled up, ears laid back, and wheezing at the younger buck. Guess the mornings cool temps had him feeling it!

10 more yards, broadside, and the deal was done. He ran about 20 yards right at us and crashed beside the blind.

Ive never killed a good buck this early in the season but it sure is nice to have the pressure off. Looking forward to getting the kids out this weekend.

Got out last weekend and tried bow hunting again. Been struggling the past 2 years with seeing clearly. It was either see the pins but not the animal or vise versa. Decided it was time to try out some bifocals and after a poorly placed arrow on a hog I thought it was more of the same. It was still dark when I shot so I tried again and thankfully was able to smoke this old Javelina. With proper light I could see everything I needed to.

Bonus pic of one of my bow target bucks……fat ass older 8pt up front. Others will get a pass until next year. 8pt will become a rifle buck after Xmas if things don't work out with a bow.

The stinger got him! Perfect shot on a small target.

Im struggling with the same problem with my eyes. Front sight has gotten blurry in the last year. Been hunting a buck in the afternoons that comes in during the last 10 minutes of legal. Turning my sight light on just makes it worse now. I need to try to find one that's not as bright.

Spent the weekend at the camp with my son and a couple other boys. One boy started off Saturday morning with a nice doe that I didn't get a pic of.

My youngest this morning, with his first deer. A monster 11 point.

Think the real fun was maintaining a vigilant red rider patrol around camp.
