New Brunswick Canada, which is east / northeast of Maine. The bears tend to be smaller than Alberta bears, but the hunts are more affordable. Got it in early June of last year, and the meat was great, I'm guessing due to their spring diet.

Matt's the best out there! I'm waiting for 2 shoulder mounts to be done. I can't wait to get them back!

He's still in Pipe Creek.

That really brings back some early memories. My paternal grandfather lived in western Pennsylvania and was an avid hunter.

He had a similar black bear mount. Standing, right paw held a lamp, and the left paw held an ashtray. It was from the 20's.

He also had a a beautiful double barrel combo gun. 16 guage and 8 mm Mauser.

Both the bear and the gun are long gone.

I think I've found the guy to do my baboon toilet paper holder (spring loaded pointer fingers?) or butler in a tiny tux.

My buddy got a big cinnamon brown a couple of years ago and kept the dick. It's a bone that is part of the actual bear's dick. I had no idea and apparently guides keep them as trophies.

He keeps it in his truck to show people. Asks people if they want to see his bear dick.

I live south of Knoxville but worked outside of Gatlinburg for a few years. Our primary maintenance guy was from the area and hunted black bear all his life.

Late December he brings in a crock pot and tells everyone he's got some 'bear' stew. I'm game and I proceed to dig in. Backstory…I've got a Masters in Meat Science so I'm really critical.

I'm eating this and I swear it's beef chuck roast…it was that good.

BTW, love that part of Canada. I was surprised how many locals only speak French.
