The FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System reported that firearm background checks were up 3.5% year over year to 2,000,629 checks in September to mark the fourth month in a row of year-over-year gains. Firearm background checks have been over the 2M level for 8 out of 9 months in 2026.

US firearm demand stays solid despite a high level of civilian ownership

It's a buyers market right now. Aside from artificially inflated Gucci guns, it is a fantastic time to buy. Darwin has knocked off the majority of the absolute garbage and the market competition has lowered prices to everyday working American levels and lower in some cases. Even the cheapest offerings today are leagues better than what was shoveled out even 10-15 years ago.

The Glock level of semi auto pistols has such a glut of awesome guns in the sub $700 MSRP range it's borderline ridiculous. Same with ARs. Bolt Guns. Etc. Even optics you can get damn good glass these days for $500ish that fits the needs of 95% of people.

We are living in golden times and most of us probably don't even realize it.
