If you do choose Cabo, Karma Sportfishing is a really well run outfit also. We have sold their trips for decades in our CCA banquets around the state and never have had anything but extremely positive reports out of them.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I will definitely add these to our lists of stuff to do. For now, rebooked to Cabo and boat is chartered with Mar Vida.

Now onto hotels and other activities. We'll be there 4 nights. Based on quick research I think we'll probably kayak / paddleboard but not sure what else just yet. Any other must do's? I assume uber / taxi is the way to go?

Taxis are how we get around. They are everywhere but there is a lot within walking distance.

Do not swim on the beach unless it's designated for swimming. There are water taxis that are cheap to take you to private swimming by the rocks. No need to book in advance just walk around the marina and they are everywhere.

Massages at the sand bar is very reasonable. It think it's under $40 for a hour.

If golf is your thing, there are great courses all over. Can rent clubs from them. My two sons and 3 nephews played a round one day and they really enjoyed it. That was a pool/beach day for me.

Awesome thank you. Is cash a must for taxis or do they generally take credit cards?

I always have paid cash. I try to use cards as little as possible in foreign countries.

Thanks. Makes sense and figured as much. I've mostly traveled to Europe in the past 10 years where cards are perfectly fine.

Any hotel or other excursion recs?

We stay at Playa Grande and I would recommend it to anyone. They have a great breakfast buffet although it's not free. Also, get a pass to " The Ridge". It's a Rooftop pool with bar, where the villas are that overlooks the pacific on one side and the marina on the other.

If you guys are into hiking and outdoor stuff, Colorado is hard to beat for a short 35 day run, but if those non-refundable tickets happen to be on allegiant air, your options might really depend on where their direct routes go from your home airport. They have awesome cheap nonstop routes to places like Denver (via AZA/GJT or nearby hubs), Montana (Bozeman/Kalispell), or even down into Florida if you decided to pivot to saltwater fishing instead.
