I had an industry specific fishing tournament/fundraiser last Friday and since nobody in the office has a boat, we opted to hire a guide. Everybody basically looked at me so I called SGrem, who thankfully had the date open and was more than willing to tote 3 or 4 of us around for the better part of the day.

Met Grem at the TC Dike early in the morning and we headed out. Water was rough with the east wind and the fish didn't want to cooperate much. We landed a couple of decent reds and a couple of trout that were keepers. I had one spec that was pretty solid, but over the slot and under 28" so he got to go back. Everywhere we tried we just didn't have much of a bite, but that was, as we found out, the standard of the day. I think out of 30 something teams less than 10 even had trout on their stringers for weigh in and a bunch of teams got skunked completely. That's why they call it fishing and not catching.

We weren't looking to go out and win every category and had a great time regardless. Grem was easy to work with and fun to talk with while we were bobbing on the water. His boat and equipment were in great shape and overall it was just a great day because I was out fishing while on the clock - hard to beat that. It wasn't for lack of trying that we just didn't get much of a bite. Would have no issue hiring him again, any of you looking for a bay guide need to give him a shot.

Capt Grem is good people! I need to book my next trip with him and my kids.
