$5.99/lb, the marbling on the one I picked up looks great. No trimming required...BBQ time!

For the neophytes out there like me, how do you prepare a chuck roast like this for smoker/bbq?

This will be like a mini brisket, hopefully with that marbling, I expect the final product to be sort of a "brisket hybrid", not as lean as a brisket flat, but not as "moist" as a brisket point.
I will wrap in butcher paper, when the IT is about 170deg, then take it to 195-ish
I also will baste it with a (for me) traditional sop.
I'll go back for another (or two), hopefully larger.

I have started doing these all the time. I know this will be ridiculed, but I like them better than brisket. Very similar flavor profile but much easier to cook and the perfect size for my family. I smoke mine 2 hours and then finish in a covered foil pan. If I want to slice it, I will do less time in the oven and if I want to do tacos, I will let it go until I can shred it.
