To whoever buys, I want to see post-restore pics.

I inherited a free rusty shotgun from a duck hunting guide on the coast. Cleaned most the rust off with 0000# steel wool and oil. It's not a looker, but functional. I plan to shoot some dragons breath out of it.

I'm going through all of them now, and it looks like it's the one long gun that is actually functional as-is. The damage looks to be purely cosmetic and limited to the top exterior of the receiver. The carrying case also stinks, but that can be resolved easily with some ozone. I'm going to break it down to check for any unseen issues and lube it up, but I would bet I could take it to the range today and be fine.

UPDATE ON INVENTORY

I went through the collection tonight.

These are available:
Mossberg 500A 12ga Shotgun (includes short barrel)
Ruger 10/22 .22LR
Ruger 10/22 Takedown (11100) .22LR (includes carrying bag)
Remington Woodsmaster 742 30-06

These are pending:
Remington Magnum Wingmaster 870 12ga Shotgun
Winchester 94 30-30
2 X Browning BLR .243
Colt MKIII Police Positive .38SP

I'm keeping the Glock 19 for now, but it has interest if I change my mind. Three drops of oil and it's like brand new.

I also have all this ammunition to go through. Most of it is in good or like-new condition. Some of it is trash.

Reminds me of the videos on social media of folks restoring completely rusted out, old WWII-era pieces. Don't know what it is about them, but I can't get enough of them.

It would be that level of effort. Electrolysis, complete disassemble, and scrubbing/cleaning, etc.

There is youtube rabbit hole I have fallen down watching folks that restore extremely damaged and corroded items. Based on that stuff, you should be able to restore a lot of these.
