It's hilarious when politicians try to grift on anything hunting and fishing. Of all things to try and fake, a fly fishing cast is not one you should try without at least a little bit of practice, these's two clearly didn't. At least they weren't holding them upside-down. Also, who wet wades in slacks?

Me too. I bet they told you they had been fly fishing for 30 years. Once in 1996, another trip in 2011 and today.

Newsome didn't look half bad and after a day with a good guide would probably be casting well enough to get his fly within a foot of the bank. Tapper on the other hand looks like he had about 10 mins of instruction before the taping.

You know I really was on the fence about these two but now that i've seen them fly fishing like real men I'm totally a fan. Both are alpha males. the fact that they're totally good at the sport just reinforces it. Totally authentic high testosterone men's men

I hear you. About 12 years ago I took a guy named Hunter fly fishing and it was a true test of my patience to stay positive and coax him to get better. I hope he stuck with it....

As much as I love to fly fish I just wouldn't have the patience to be a guide. I really only want to fish with people who really love to fish these days.

Also, TPWD offers free classes every now and then. Took one with my son in the spring. It was great. The taught you how to cast and to tie a basic fly.

They also work with/partner with? Project Healing Waters. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but sounds like a good way to learn and give back.
