Located in CS. Got a tree that's losing leaves already. Just moved into the house this year so not sure if it does this every year or not

I did spray some yaupon with diesel/ rememdy about a month ago but was careful not to spray the tree or get to close. The other tree close by is fine.

Anyone know what kind of tree this is and if it's normal/ what might be causing it?

If the leaves on a twig are staggered it is probably an elm. If they are opposite eachother probably an ash. Csnt see the leaf margins clearly.

Better that they are dropping than turning brown and hanging on tree. Looks like American Elm-but as previous poster says-hard to see leaf margins.

Probably dropping leaves because it's under a lot of heat stress right now. It's been abnormally hot and dry for awhile. I have well-established trees doing the same thing. It's a defense mechanism to shed leaves they don't need to conserve moisture for the core plant. Might want to give it an extra long drink with a hose on moderate flow for about an hour. Twice a month would be adequate until the extreme heat and drought break and we get some real rainfall.
