Last I heard, the fire is contained from structures but only 40% contained. There's some rough country over there. Also heard discussion of "road blocks" so I imagine they are using a county road or similar as a containment line. Most departments were released about dark last night while aerial patrol continued through the night.

I videoed the two scooper planes flying over my house after they scooped out of lake Brownwood to dump water on the fire.

Wow. Bet that was something. Many years back I had a dealer in Brownwood that sold our boats. We used to do demo ride events on the lake.
A dealer in Breckenridge bought him out then closed it up. The lake was nice and good folks out there all.
Will continue to send prayers up for your safety and other folks out there.

I went to my ex-wife's family reunion for close to 20 years on her great-uncle's place on the Colorado between Brookesmith and Winchell. My daughters still go most years.

Hope they get the fire out soon.

Lion painted on the driveway. Way to represent!

It dried out fast after a nice early summer.

I grew up in Brownwood, a while back.

No no no…I live in Early. We are the purple* longhorns

We bought this house from coach parker a year ago, who was head basketball coach at Brownwood. The lion hasn't washed away yet and I haven't been mad enough to get the pressure washer out

Nope.

My wife's family has a reunion out there annually. Her dad's cousin owns a ranch on the Colorado near Brookesmith. Her great uncle owned (another cousin owns now) a house and lot on the ranch where the reunion was hosted. They've moved the reunion into town recently.

Happens a lot in Brownwood. Mom's great aunt and uncle are first cousins. Them Gobers are something else! Happy to be in a different tree!
