Gotta little story for ya Aggies.
A few years ago I met a kid named Wyatt ay TIRR in Houston . He was a newly injured high quad from Livingston. Great kid. Great family. Lower income family so his road to recovery was going to be challenging in the way of accessible housing.
Well, I helped arrange (through my dog trainer's wife Kristin whose club generously donated) to get him an electric fishing reel so he could fish again, which he did.
Sadly, Wyatt passed away last year from complications from being a high quad on a vent.
A few years prior, I had also met a kid from Mermentau, La., named Hunner. He was another high quad who suffered an accidental GSW to the neck. Same kinda situation as Wyatt but he wasn't on a vent.
So his uncle Alan reached out to me a month ago and asked about getting him an electric reel because Hunner wanted to try fishing again. So we arranged for Wyatt's mom Sara to send his rig directly to Hunner.
