I used to have a neighbor, I'd see small packages arriving everyday for about 18 months, then. a Jeep would roll out of his garage.
This is what our house is like currently. Rockauto daily deliveries!!

Not really. I titled some of mine in the late 70's. (78-79). He just didn't get to the right person.
I had one that I bought from a very old gentleman in Fredericksburg. WWII MA model. Early WWII. What they called a slat grille.
He only gave me a bill of sale.
All military jeeps had a specific serial number stamped in the top of the frame on the drivers side of the vehicle…in the engine compartment.
It was hard to see and usually covered with rust/dirt. It matched the data plate that was riveted to the dash.
However, about 90%, of the jeeps sold surplus….. has those data plates missing.
So the only way to identify a number for the jeep was that obscure number on the frame that most folks don't know is there.
Anyway I took the bill of sale to our county tax office and got an application for title form. Then they told me to bring in a picture or proof of that serial number on the frame.
The old way of doing that was taking a piece of paper and scribing with a pencil over it.
Then our local sheriff looked at it and approved it.
I did that for a couple of jeeps, and HMMWV's. Always was pretty easy.
Also if you register them as antique vehicles and license them as that it's simpler to get inspections typically.

Your are so right. As I said above, that of all I had, the MB, GPW, M38, M381, and M151A2......the M151A2 rode the best on ranch roads. I could not tell from your picture....what M151 variant is yours? M151, M151A1 or M151A2? I can tell it was never cut...or if it was somebody did a damn good job of welding the body halves together!

One can never have too much shop. If you think you need 20 by 30 make it 30 by 60.......
