What are your opinions. If I go with an L2/L4 it will have a small outboard. Of course a solo skiff will as well.

All fishing would be skinny water no more than 3 miles from a launch point. Not all launch points will be boat ramps.

What experience do you have with either of these?

Out of those two, I like the Solo Skiff better.

Howdy...I'm Chris, the owner at Hoodoo Sports (and a proud Aggie '09). Come check us out down in Missouri City, TX. We've got the newer version of the Hero 130 Apex, which includes a fin drive and swivel seat, in stock in multiple colors. The original version (FB Marketplace linked above) is great as well, but it does not have a solid mounting option for the seat or a way to use the fin drive.

Looks like this owner did what many others did and mounted a boat seat to the center hatch...which works, but make sure there's support (ex: solid foam blocks) under the hatch to prevent the hull from cracking at the corners. Happy to chat through other skiff options for you as well, if you'd like.
