Pop a couple of Benadryl into a hunk of spam and toss it to Pepe. Give him a few hours to eat it and knock out. Then relocate him.

go to lowes and get the waterproof Tyvek suit. Theyre like $30. Put the trap in a truck bed and just take it somewhere remote and let it go.
Mostly cause I wanna see your neighbors reaction to seeing you in that set up
Tyvek is not vapor proof. You'll stay dry, yes... But you'll still stink. You do not want to know how I know this.

Here's my plan. Surf rod, heavy test line and big treble hook. From a safe distance, cast the treble hook at the cage from the canal side of the rv. Hook cage. Open spool and somehow get it to the other side of the canal. Reel in the trap until it is in the canal. Leave in canal a couple days. Skunk gone, eat blue crabs.
And, please post video.

I've done this a couple times before with a live trap and had no issues.
Step 1 - attach rope to live trap
Step 2 bait/set live trap
Step 3 catch skunk (you are here!!)
Step 4 use big tarp to hide you and move slowly towards trap and drape over
Step 5 pick up trap slowly and move to nearest water(I even transported in truck bed with no issues)
Step 6 drop trap in water
Step 7 pull up rope and remove dead skunk
Obviously you won't have the rope but should still be able to just tarp it and drop it in canal then just figure out a way to retrieve your trap. Just go slow and keep tarp in front of you and you will be fine. Don't let it die in the heat. That's awful.

Update time, tho not a very exciting one.
Got down there early this morning and found the skunk still alive and well. My confidence on being able to deal with the situation very quickly retreated. The trap was pushed far enough up under the RV that I couldn't get it covered with the tarp, so i decided to go plan C and shoot it.
I guess the first shot was a good one because he didn't spray. I think it still released something because there was definitely a bit of a skunky smell, but not like a full on spray. I was able to get it removed from the trap and tossed it into the canal. It was bigger than I expected, looked about the size of a well fed house cat.
Unfortunately to lessen entertainment value even further, I left this morning before the suit showed up. On the plus side, I can be walter white for Halloween now.
A couple of things that were a good lesson for me:
1. Don't leave out a trap of any kind unless you want to catch something in it, even if there is no bait.
2. The .22 I used had been in the back of the safe ever since the place I used to shoot it at was sold. Wasn't ever a range gun. I had moved since then and a lot of time had passed. I was not confident at all that it would still be sighted correctly. Luckily, it still was. Reminded me that as a tool, it is only good if it is in proper condition.
Thanks for all of the suggestions - and the fun skunk stories. Please keep your own skunk stories coming!
