I know there are several pilots that post on here from time to time. My son is about halfway through his training hours. There are several pieces of gear he is wanting to buy, but the big one right now is a headset. He is wanting a Bose A20 Bluetooth set because that is what he has been using with his instructor. A few people have mentioned finding a used set since a lot of people start the process, but never actually finish it.

Just wondering if there are any good, reputable Facebook groups (or non-Facebook) where pilots sell stuff?

Not trying to mess you all up but I have had and used David Clark's since getting my PPL in 1986. Have used some Bose as well. At least check out DC's. I've never had one single issue in all those years.

Definitely up for all suggestions. He's comfortable with the Bose...but it's all he has used up to this point!

Just a thought but you might consider purchasing them when he signs up for check ride as a gift for finishing the PPL - many Bose headsets have been purchased over the years by people who never finish. Also would make a great gift to recognize his accomplishment!

When I took my check ride the FAA Adjutant was a WWII P-47 Fighter pilot named Dutch Zwiefel. He had a reputation of flunking about 90% of the students he gave check rides to. I was scared as heck!
You are right though...not everybody passes their check ride.
