Damn sucks to hear. We lost ours just short of 9 years suddenly a few months ago.
Take heart in knowing you gave him the best life and he gave you the best of his life.

OP, so sorry for your loss. I lost my 13yo beagle-mix and best buddy back in March. It sucks bad, but it gets better. You gave him a great life! If only people treated each other as well as dogs treat us.

I got his ashes back today. I thought my first dog's passing was hard but this one for some reason is much harder. Our house just feels empty this time.

Hang in sir. He is still there. Just on the other side. You WILL see him again. And we can't fathom on this earth the happiness and joy you will experience in that reunion.
I have a lab that is young but has many health issues. I'll spend the money to give him the best medical care and most happy life I can….. but I know his life will not be a long one. Doesn't matter, we love him, he loves us. We will enjoy his love and companionship and cherish everyday God gives us with him.
You be gentle on yourself….you gave him the best…..and he knows it still.
