Got to watch some pretty cool technology a few days ago since my buddy that I hunt with in Utah wants a set of replica antlers made. Classic Racks out of Missouri is the company that is doing them. They made a visit to my taxidermist in Houston. The fine details like the small bumps and veins are all recorded with the scanning. It's very hard to tell the difference between the real and replica antlers once they are stained.






They did a set for him on my 2022 Utah buck and they turned out incredible.

Yeah, my buddy likes having replicas from the hunts he's a part of. He's got a pile of incredible muleys mounted in his house that he's either helped with, shot himself, or his family has shot.

I will say that having antlers scanned is actually pretty smart. In the event your house burns down, insurance would pay for the cost of the replicas, new capes, and mounting. I believe scanning only is about $40/head.

I agree. That's the only caliber I've shot since the '70s.
However I've wondered what the 50 cal would do to a rabbit or armadillo.
