I didn't want to keep talking about this in the Camp Mystic thread.

We're in Highland Haven right now at a friend's house on the lake. The water got up over the dock floor here about an hour ago, but it's dropped a couple inches. I'm wondering what others are seeing.

Watching this closely. My family decided to evacuate earlier in the evening.

It was up over the seawall when they left. They were up the Colorado River. They left around 8:00 pm.

Stay safe!

Its back up now about 3-4" above dock floor here. Our friends lived here in 2018 and had 6" in the house. They don't seem overly concerned just yet.

Scroll down to Wirtz Dam/Lake LBJ to follow when they open floodgates and max readings.

You probably saw my photos on the other thread. That's my friend's place on LBJ west of the 2900 bridge. They're getting it pretty good right now.

I'm here near Kingsland, parents also have a lake house on Buchanan. Curious what it looks like tomorrow and how many people kept their watercraft anchored out too low. San Saba water gonna hit it soon.

Water about a foot over our dock now. About as high as it's been all evening. What is the level on Buchanan now? Don't see recent update on LCRA site. I doubt they have to take any action up there but if they do it could change things for the worst on lbj

This is the winning link right here. Updates every 5 minutes with lake level.

I thought I was posting about LBJ/LCRA on the Kerrville/Guadalupe Flooding thread, not the Camp Mystic thread.. I felt dumb realizing that, given all those worried about those sweet girls.

Thanks for starting. Looks like the level is starting to fall at the dam, based on the Flood Operations page.

Buchanan still 17' from full, San Saba water still hasn't hit it.

I like watching this page river flows. Red is flood stage.

Edit: for reference, most of these river flows are usually low double digits.

We are on Buchanan and we have a loooong way to go before there is any trouble.

What's absolutely insane is that the Llano River at Llano was 50 yesterday and I saw it at 117K at one point today.

If I remember right, San Saba south of Brady was 150k plus at one point earlier today.

Urgent LCRA Alert: LCRA is opening a fifth floodgate at Wirtz Dam. Take action to protect people and property that may be affected. Flows will be fast and water levels will be higher than usual downstream of the dam. More info: LCRA.org

I hear ya. I've been watching the other thread all day. I felt bad talking about it there. I can't imagine what some of those folks are dealing with right now.

Just checked, and water has dropped back down to just about level with dock.

In Laws are right at Sunrise Beach Village boat ramp park and the water is up over dock and into the boat house.

We were supposed to go up to LBJ for the weekend but canceled this morning. My five year old little girl was so upset because she loves going to the lake. She's been a handful all day, I assume because she's still mad, and I lost my patience a couple of times.

In light of what's happened at Camp Mystic, I've felt so guilty for my lack of patience and gratitude all evening.

I think that side of the lake has the actual river flow.

We were coming in from Midland this morning. Almost turned around in Wall because a part of Hwy 87 was closed for a bit. Ended up waiting it out and made it into Kingsland - good 5 hour drive. San Angelo got hit pretty hard - 15" of rain.

NW shore here. We reeeeally need another round on the San Saba to fill er up.

Houses on Buchanan would never be in trouble with the amount of gates and the spillway (not that this storm is even going to get close to filling it up)

Is there any word on Horshoe Bay potentially flooding? My niece is staying somewhere there and I am wondering if I should just go pick her up. The house is not waterfront and she says they are elevated, but I don't know how much

I don't think it's gonna get that bad there. Some boat houses got flooded on the NW side of lake but levels already falling.

Some interesting data on the Highland Lakes by the LCRA.
Interesting that they say Lake Buchanan, unlike Lake Travis, has no room to store flood waters once it's full.
In 1991 Buchanan reached a historic level of 1021.4 ft. and Buchanan Lake Village would have had the potential to have homes and structures flooded. Prayers for everyone.

I'm out by Oatmeal which by Bertram close to the Cow Creek area but we also have the San Gabriel river that runs through our place. We already had about 5 plus inches from yesterday and this storm is dumping around 6 inches per hour.
