Yeah, making that run into the channel across the sea was the killer. He could have handled those seas if he had gone further east and then turned to come straight down the waves and just kept pace on the backside of a wave.Centerpole90 said:

The wye in front of Port Mansfield can get pretty salty but it is the only way home. On most days seas are from the southeast on the prevailing wind. If I'm returning from fishing up north of Port on those days, I often press well south of the mouth of the harbor to ride in on a straight following sea. Of course, broaching is always a risk on a following sea, but a quartering following can can make it easier to do when the hook digs in a wave.
