I wanted to go to a range while I'm in Austin next week. The range I used to go to when I lived there has closed. I used to go to Astro shooting range liberty Hill.

Anyone have any suggestions? I prefer to stay indoors; but, I wanna shoot 556 and 9 mm.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Range USA off 45 tollway in Round Rock is very clean and indoors. Gets pretty busy on the weekends, if that's when you were planning on going.

Eagle peak west of cedar park stretches to 300 yards on the rifle side, but they don't allow FMJ rifle ammo.

What days of the week will you be in the area? I can get you on a private place but I have to be there as well.

Edit, it is outdoors.

I was planning on going on Tuesday or Wednesday, so that will work fine.

Lonestar down in Lockhart is decent but outdoors. 25 bucks will get you all day including allowing you to come and go if you decide to run in for bbq and then head back.

Website is a little dated but the folks are nice and usually not crowded during the week.

Another vote for lonestar. I don't know why anybody would prefer to shoot indoors.

During the day it's very manageable and easy to get in and out.

Because it's not 100 outside and I'm familiar with range USA, as that is where I shoot here when I shoot indoors.

It's not 100 here.

The Range at Austin has 25 and 100 yd lanes and allows rifles. I-35S between William Cannon and Slaughter. I haven't been down there yet, but I have been wanting to go check it out one of these days.

You don't happen to be talking about Austin Rifle Club do you? I have been considering joining out there, but haven't been in a position to be able to commit to the work days consistently over the last year because of other things going on.

Shady oaks off 1431 in cedar park if you're up north.

There is also a Lonestar in Florence on 183. Lots of rules though, and the Fudd is strong with this one.

More rules than the Hooters HR department...

Yeah i went up to that one once, never again, and just so everyone knows, the two are completely unrelated. The one in Lockhart is good people.

Agreed. And yes, they are completely unrelated, just happen to have similar/same names.

Eagle Peak is also in the same area and is outdoors.

Copperhead Creek may be further west than OP desires, but for anyone else that is looking for a range I highly recommend them. Outdoors, dedicated pistol, rifle and skeet ranges, but also numerous tactical bays that you have full control. Friendly staff.

Reds in Pligarville has 100 yard lanes.
