Took night time walk around my house just now and found 5 black widow spiders hanging from different webs under the window sills of my house. The house front is made of limestone and has crevices and cracks.

I burned a couple with a long lighter (kill with fire). I used up all my wasp spray this past weekend so I am under gunned at the moment.

I have day off tomorrow will head to feedstore. Have a couple pump up sprayers.

I killed one of those just now in the outdoor kitchen. We have family and friends coming for big Easter shindig. I need to get busy.

Do you think demon WP is available at most feedstores?

You can buy it at Tractor Supply

Traditional insecticides do not work with spiders. Spiders do not put their feet in there mouth to feed like insects. Therefore, if they walk through the residual poison, it will have little or no effect.

The best treatment for spiders is a broom
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

Tempo SC Ultra and Taurus SC both work on spiders. And a whole lot more. I doubt that you will be able to find them at your local TSC or similar, but you can easily mail-order.

Demon WP works too and is not too hard to find, but if mixed to the higher level (think scorpion) of strength, it can leave a stain on light-colored objects.

This is the way. I use Taurus SC. Spray every 6 months.

20mm Vulcan can be messy, but its spray will get the job done. Hate those damn things.

Dealt with it for years in Cali, best for me was headlamp and torch at night, then a broom to knock down the webs after burning the spiders.

We moved into our new build 2 years ago and saw black widows almost daily for the first month. Went with Demon WP on the advice of this board, and found 7 dead within 30 minutes of spraying. Haven't seen a live one since. I spray every 3 months or so.

Did you just spray where the floor and walls meet (ie - basedboard area)? I've got them in my barn pretty bad although part of it is full of stuff right now and inaccessible up in there. We do have a decent scorpion population too on our house porches that I need to address. TIA

Starter fluid, brake cleaner, really pretty much anything made for automotive work that comes in an aerosol can and a bbq lighter is top notch fun.

some things you just never grow out of. Although I'm big on dawn and water in a cup to throw on them.

I only sprayed the exterior of the house where siding and foundation meet, around windows and doors, some corners in the garage, and around the perimeter fence some (needed to use the last little bit).

There were definitely a few under the siding that nested in a few spots, and a few in the garage.

Now there is discoloration from where you spray, depending on the strength you use, but I go about 4-6" outside of the house, 12-18" up from the ground, extra heavy around doors, and if I've been seeing or catching anything on glue traps then I spray around window frames too.

I have yet to spray inside just because of dogs but it is supposed to be safe after dried. However, I'd come home and see my dog has licked the baseboards clean just like he likes to eat cow/sheep/raccoon ****

I've only had the discoloration in spots I go heavy spray. I only use one packet per gallon since we normally only get spiders and ants. We also have a ton of foundation exposed, so I spray more of it than the siding or brick.

I've never sprayed inside, and probably won't. We have 3 kids 10 and under, and a small dog. We rarely see anything inside, anyway.
