looking to see if anyone knows where you could launch a flat bottom boat in the navasota or brazos river that's closer to bryan/college station. been on the hunt but seems like every old one is washed out. feel free to private message me. thanks.

Are you looking for concrete boat ramps? Have you been down to the Navasota or Brazos at multiple different flow levels?

You can put in at most road crossings. Need only two of the following: the right flow, enough want to, enough crazy.

i know i won't find any that are concrete, but just somewhere that is cleared up enough and not a dead drop off. been looking all up and down and seen some that could work but are real sketchy lol. just wanted to see if anyone else had ideas before going in.

There's a pulloff on 105 west of Navasota. It's been ages since I was down there, but on the east side of the river you could walk right off into the shallow water on the point bar.

It's been almost 10 years but I spent many a day on the Navasota. We put in at the river bridge crossing on Highway 30. It wasn't paved but had definitely been improved. We would always fish down river from the bridge.

We caught yellowcat by setting lines in the evening with perch as bait and checking them the next morning. It's a surprisingly deep river and slow. It is narrow at points and sometimes trees fell across. We'd bring a chainsaw and cut the tree out and send it down river so we could fish more spots.

As a bonus, once you're done setting your lines in the evening, there's bullfrogs all over the banks. It wasn't anything to get a dozen frogs on a night with no moon.

I'd love to go back one day. Man those were the days.

There used to be great access at Millican Falls.
Deloss Dodds has an indention that appears similar to the cut a hatchet makes on a tree branch in place of where his man parts should be.

We used to put in at the bridge on 30. Don't remember it ever being anything super difficult, but we had a small flat bottom and were younger and much more spry then.

Annual trip is this weekend. Put in at 30 on Saturday and take out at 105 on Sunday. River is low and I expect 4 or 5 portages on Saturday.

I used to put in west of Navasota. We'd carry the engine and boat separately to the river then yank the whole rig up the embankment with mule tape and a truck when we got back. Great times
