Just curious. I am coming up on ten years in the same house. I am 47 and have never lived in a town longer than five years much less a house for that long since I left home at 17. I grew up one mile from downtown Fort Worth in the same house. It's somehow still there but we don't own it.

I've noticed after ten years that everything is older now. My cats are all old. My dogs are old. Neighbors are getting old. Lawnmower is old and right now actually doesn't work. Even the trees are getting old. I've never had old cats before.

Plan on living here 7-10 more years but I bet we leave when my 7th grader graduates. Hell we may follow him out the door.

Just curious.

47?

Cats aren't the only thing old, bruh.

I kid. Mid forties myself. And yeah, it seems things are aging faster to me.

I grew up for 18 years in one house. My college years and twenties were spent bouncing around annually to take advantage of the move in specials at different apartments.

Now I've been on the same block of my street for 16 years. Three different houses across two lots (tore one down and rebuilt). Will probably be here 7-10 more years before I buy some property and move out of the city.

And yes, I'm graying and my knees hurt.

30. Replaced about everything once and some parts twice. Probably live here another 5-7 years until the wife retires. Been a good home where I've grown my kids. It's given all us a good life.

Grew up an Army Brat. Moved all the time. I think 15 houses before graduating college. Now, my last two house were 11years and now 8 years. Feels weird, but also time is flying by as I get older so it isn't by biggest worry.

I heard an investor say sell your house every 7-8 years and upgrade, each time having a 15 year note and you can retire when you sell the last one. Don't know how true that is but I can see some logic in it.

Next I was going to ask for the addresses. See if they match the boxes of 4473s we have scanned in the database.

I was a member of Quail Valley from maybe 2002-2006 before I moved to Anchorage.

Used to play a lot of golf with an Aggie but I cannot remember his name. We played some with Kevin Mack of Cleveland Browns fame. That was a long time ago now.

26 years in current home which was also our first home.
Also own a house in Bryan that daughter currently lives in while attending A&M, a new manufactured home on 7 acres in Whitesboro that my son who works in Sherman lives in, and a newly built barndo on 333 acres close to Red River in Walnut Bend. Both wife and I grew up and lived all our lives (other than at A&M) in one house (her dad still lives in their family home). So while tempted to keep trading up like most people, we never did and eventually paid off our house and then proceeded to buy more property.

By the grace of God, No debt on any of them. We will likely live on the ranch at least 50% of the time once our Soph son graduates from HS and wife retires from teaching.

Current house - 6.5 years. My wife and I moved 11 times in through previous 10 years.

When I was a kid - about every year until I was 6. Homeless for 2 years before I was 6. In the same dumpy falling apart trailer til I was 18.

18 years this July. Never planned on staying there this long but it's ridiculously inexpensive to stay. Put in a huge patio cover last year that has pacified the desire for a bigger house somewhat.

We spent our first night in this house last night. 2600sf barndo I contracted on 10 acres we bought in 2023. The plan is to stay here until our boys (currently 1 and 2) move out, at least.
