Hate to see the whole situation happen at all and the loss of any life. Just saw this story and my heart sank. Seems like a bunch of good family guys that loved the outdoors.

Summary: Group of 10 from Maryland took a duck/goose hunting trip to Kansas. 7 flew and 3 drove to bring the dogs, guns, equipment, etc. On the return, you know the rest of the story.

Groups of people travel together all the time, and nothing happens. Makes it a real shock when the worst does happen. I know people in that area who are big hunters, none involved here, haven't yet heard if any of these are their friends.

A bunch of figure skaters, parents, and coaches were also on the flight. Echos of 1961, when the entire US team died in a crash in Belgium

As someone a year removed from a tragedy, I feel for those families. Especially the 3 that drove home. It's going to be a tough road for them. Prayers sent.

I hunted with Fowl Plains in Kansas last January. Same outfitter and same tree trunk where we posed with birds at the lodge in the linked photo. Great outfit, terrible tragedy. Hits a little closer now
