The TexAgs community has supported us in so many ways, its hard to express the right amount of gratitude.

That will certainly be the case in this instance, as this site connected us with Gunny and he hooked Alex and I up in a big way. Not only did he setup tours for us at Bass Cat and Vexus Boats, he fed us, housed us at his beautiful ranch and drove us all over.

Alex learned a lot about boat manufacturing - but the lessons in hospitality and kindness were even greater.

And the Bass Cat tour was impressive. Rick Pierce spent hours with it and that man's knowledge and passion for boats is amazing. There was a story behind every detail - down to each screws they use.

If you like boats or just seeing how things are made, check it out.

Very nice! Keep them coming!
So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

now that's cool!! not just the tour but the whole story. Keep up the good work with these lessons. I sure hope it reaches a wider audience and can be an inspiration to at least one other kid/family!!

on a side note, Gunny is clearly a great contributor to this board and has been for years. He's one of the old salts. Hope he doesn't get chased off by newer generation like many others have been. I've never met Gunny but we do have a contact in common. Said contact has been excellent to myself and my family and I trust him. He's said nothing but great things about Gunny so it's not just how he treats folks on this board...it's everyone.

With Alex learning so much about boat building and how much he enjoys building his own…..he may end up being a COO of a boat company or maybe he and dad will open their own new boat company someday! I'll bet it would be a well thought out and innovative design.

What a great video and dad/son project!
I bought a bass cat and it's the best bass boat on the market. Rick wrote me a hand written thank you note after the sale. They are an awesome company!

Man, spreading that epoxy resin by hand with no PPE is certainly a choice...

but BassCat boats are really nice. I'm happy with my 20 year old Ranger and will probably repower and keep running. But if I hit the lottery tomorrow I'd probably order a new BassCat.

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking about spreading the epoxy by hand. Never done fiberglass work, but some surgical style gloves seem like they would work fairly easily for this.
