My lab only gets on furniture if I invite him up with me when I'm in my chair…..but really he is on my lap then.
The wife allows the same only when he gets the command.
He sleeps at night in his crate at the end of our bed…. but if we are in the house he is too mostly.

Well, yes and yes. Now anyhow. All our dogs were outside dogs earlier, till the wife got a miniature schnauzer. Little guy made me wonder how in the world I survived all my life without miniature schnauzers. Have 6 right now, although one is supposed to be for sale. First guy sleeps in bed between our pillows. The rest sleep in kennels, except when I go hunting. Our oldest female is attached to me like no other. Gets frantic if I leave without her. At the lease in the trailer, she sleeps with me. Other than that, the giant schnauzer and her 2 pups sleep in kennels.

Yes and yes golden retriever
So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

He rolled around in it like a 7th grade boy putting on cologne for the first time.

This is some top level writing right here.

No and no. Sully sleeps in his kennel in our home office and is not allowed on our furniture. Everyone is happy with the arrangement.

She's a miniature, probably 16 lbs, about a year old. Fixed, doggy door trained, as well as outside potty trained. does semi ok on a leash, but that's on us, as we live in the country, and generally don't have to leash them. She is what they call a phantom, mostly black with off white markings rather than tan on her muzzle, legs and bottom. Thick coat, but very smooth. And she is one major snuggle bunny, loves to lay right next to you. I have no idea why she didn't move when she was younger, but seems people have slowed on pups. Not a breeder, just have occasional litters that are raised with love.

No and yes.

We trained him to sleep in his kennel and he did it fine. Then I started traveling for work and guess the wife invited him up in the bed while I was gone. I'll say he still sleeps on his dog bed in our room about 75% of the time.

We moved about a year and a half ago and got new couches. So he's not allowed on couches anymore.

Screw all y'all posting pics of your labs. I had a lab my entire life up until my divorce in 2018 (minus 1 six year period when I was at A&M - had a dog, just not a lab). When our current dog passes, which will be soon, I have made up my mind not to get another dog. And it seems I keep getting lab pictures.

So... y'all with labs. please just stop posting pics.

Yes and yes.

I just don't get the point of having a dog that is outside only. Might as well just get a cat if you are going to have something like that IMO.

90# mutt. We know she gets on the couch when we're gone but she usually doesn't get on it when we're home unless invited. I don't think she's ever gotten into our bed but she's slept in one of the boys' beds on occasion. She has her bed in front of the fireplace that she's usually in but lots of times she'll sleep at the foot of our bed.

Fat dog is not allowed on the bed. But we have a big sectional, and as you can see, he takes full advantage.

No and no for our Labrador and Dachshund. No for the Lab because she's 65 pounds, and no for the dachshund because we found that she used to jump on and off whenever she pleased. Well now she's 6 and has a bad back already so no more furniture for her. But I think we have 6 dog beds in the house in three separate rooms. Office, living room, our bedroom. They're still spoiled.
