Meant to post this last week but had a little hiccup with my ability to post.
I've been trying to get my 8 year old on a deer this year. A very very generous texagger had us out to his property and we didn't have any luck so a local friend offered to let us shoot one at her place. My suppressor hadn't come in yet so he let us shoot a few of his guns and my daughter felt most comfortable with his .223 after a fair bit of target practice.
We sat at his place a few times before we finally had a doe walk out without a young deer in tow.
Deer walked out about 40 minutes before last light and she got lined up in her but had some serious nerves to work through and pulled off of her about 3 or 4 times to try and calm down. With about 20 minutes to go she presented a good broadside shot and my daughter let it rip. Doe was dead before it hit the ground.
Daughter said she was shedding tears of happiness and excitement after the shot and I couldn't be more proud and happy.
Found the bullet in the hide in the exit wound so I am going to frame a couple pics from the hunt and put the bullet in the frame.
