Looking to purchase a manual squeeze chute for working a maximum of 30 head on a remote piece of property in Live Oak County. Right now cattle will be mostly larger frame cattle (Brahman/Braford). Would like to be able to handle cattle that are a little waspy if necessary. I am leaning towards the Preifert SO4 but interested if there is another one I should consider. Also interested in dealer recommendations.

Two years ago we retired a 40+ y/o Powder Valley unit, and replaced it with the Priefert SO4, ours came with the selectable manual/auto head gate (or is that standard?).
It's been great, IF we had it under a cover, I'm sure all of the features/adjustments would continue to work.
Ours came from McCoy's, best price at the time.

Q Catch is the easiest chute I have ever worked with. It is also the chute Texas A&M chose for the O. D. Butler beef cattle center

Preifert is as good as it gets. The best out there, though we stopped talking to my relatives years ago over a dang sausage dispute. I let him do his thing and I do mine.

What items have stopped working? This one might be without cover for a few months.

It's all good, nothing has quit working. I just anticipate some of the really nice adjustment features possibly "not being so adjustable", due to the elements and cows#*t.

Have had them all. Arrowquip is what I have now and it's the best chute I have had. They really thought of it all when they built them.

Used several of the big brands. Nothing comes close to the arrow quip just on a different level. Maybe the other brands have caught up since I have used them but really can't say anything bad about the arrowquip. Wouldn't use anything else.

FYI, Arrowquip = Q catch. I have one and I do not think there is anything better on the market.

For those that have an arrowquip where did you get it? I inquired through the website and I have had a rep call me from what sounds like a call center and I can't hear a damn thing he says.

Somerville Farm and Ranch had an Arrowquip sitting in their yard when I drove by a few weeks ago.

We have an SO4 that is 5 ish years old in covered and we have had no issues (except the rope for side discharge sun rotted). Outside of that it's been great.

If I had it to do over, I probably would have gone arrowquip. But that's just because there wasn't anything close to us we could put our hands on prior to buying the one we have. Since, I've been around the arrowquip stuff and man it is pretty slick.
