Frying Large Turkeys?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Looks like I might get volunteered to cook two 16lb turkeys. I've always done 10-12lb. Will this work? Tempted to cut them up and mess up the Thanksgiving pictures.

Yes, they just take longer. Make sure they fit in your pot though. If they don't, chop them up and fry the parts.

All about your pot. Put the turkey in the pot and fill up with water to see what your oil level will be. Then you'll know if it will work.

and also remember that oil expands when it's boiling so reduce that "volume" by 10% I'd say. Can always add a bit more oil.
