Need to get a new electric smoker. I had a master built before, and it did great for being cheap. I have a pellet smoker, and I am not a fan. I can't things smoky enough. I also don't want to spend money just to spend money.

Masterbuilt?
Bradley?
Cookshack?
Smokin Tex?

Bonus to be able to cold smoke.

I inherited an old Redi Smoke that we had used for probably 30 years.

I recently retired it and got an Old Smokey electric. Works great and this one has adjustable temperature settings.

It's made in Houston I believe. It should last longer than me.

Would recommend to include in your research a visit to www.smoking-meat.com and read some reviews and ask this in forums.

I had a Masterbilt some time back and made some good food with it. But it was not a big time "smoker."

If a pellet grill isn't giving you enough smoke, I can't imagine how you think another electric smoker is going to.

I have a Chargriller Gravity feed smoker that uses lump charcoal, has a digital temperature controller (with a fan on the firebox intake). It's quite a bit cheaper than an Egg, a knock-off, or any pellet grill I know, and gives great smoke.

Pellets suck. and to get enough heat, you they burn too fast to really smoke enough.

I could get a ton of smoke with my old MES by adding soaked chips.

My cookshack has been outstanding. I have had it for 8 years and still cooks great. The one negative that i would give it, is that they are not WiFi connected. I love that feature on my Treager.

I started out with a Masterbuilt a number of years back. Then got a Bradley digital 4 rack. Really liked it and basically wore it out so upgraded to a Bradley P10. It heats up faster due to two elements instead of one.
All digital. But if I had it to do over again I would get the Stainless digital four rack again. Simpler to use imho.
You can cold smoke with either. They both give lots of clean smoke.

The thing that I like about the Cookshack is that it uses wood chunks as opposed to wood chips.
I am able to get good smoke from it and they are very well insulated.

Yes if you slide out the top trays

I have a regular electric smoker (I think it's a Masterbuilt - got it from Bass Pro a couple years ago as a Christmas present) that's been sitting in the garage doing nothing for far too long. Going to attempt to make some smoked salmon this weekend. We'll see how it goes.

I'm on my second Bradley. Have two at the lease also. Never had an issue with the digital ones. The analog ones have trouble getting high enough heat IMHO.

I've had a cookshack smokette elite for about a decade now. I've been able to fit two whole briskets in it so a whole turkey shouldn't be a problem. Spatchcocking it would probably help a lot too. I have smoked food in 32 F outside temps before and it had not problem keeping temp.

It looks like they sell a cold smoke baffle for any of them on their website.
