Good places in Brazos valley? Advice for your hookups? Our two 250 tanks have seen their better days and are pushing 50 years old.

Never bought from them so no idea on prices/quality, but I think Producers sells them

You can get a better price buying a truckload and diesel will last a long time. 2,500 gallons should hold a tandem axle delivery truck or an 8,000 gallon tank will hold a transport load.
I miss the 30- 50 cents per gallon for farm diesel in the 90s. It was always cheaper in the winter and we would fill the tanks.
Delta Tank in Houston should have what you need.

Most of them should assist in tank ,setup and fuel all turnkey.

I bought one from Producers last year and they delivered and set it up. Very smooth. I got a larger one but I believe the 300 gal tank and stand and hose/nozzle was around $1300 or so. Their delivery price for fuel is 10 cents more than their advertised price at Coop.
Timmons will do the same but you have to fill out a pretty detailed application with bank info/ credit info that I decided not to complete.

How long will diesel stay good in these tanks?

3 months on average but could be as long as 6 or 8 months on rare occasion. The tank(s) will be under cover.

You can put sta-bil in gasoline for up to 2 years shelf life, but you can only get 12 months on diesel doing the same. Kinda interesting.

I use Pri-D and having pretty good success. I don't store it unused but infrequently refill as I use but always using the correct amount for each fill. Never have problems.

Producers puts their own stabilizer in delivered gasoline. Not sure about diesel.

I've had diesel in ours for over 12-18 months before. Generally we burn up 250 gallons in 6 months. Our supplier has additives in it but it's also diesel. I've had diesel sitting in tractors for close to 15 years and it still fired up. I don't recommend that, but the point is it's not like gasoline.

We keep quite a bit of fuel on hand at the farm. Our overhead tanks were provided by our supplier at no charge (we provided the stock tanks for secondary containment)

They come monthly and top all tanks off.

We have a 1000 gallon fuel trailer that we own for mobile filling tractors. We keep it parked by our overhead tanks.

We keep off road diesel, gasoline and road diesel in our overhead tanks. It's really handy to have fuel in hand when you are 20 miles from town!

Almost no one in the Panhandle uses overhead tanks anymore. But then most farmers work several different farms that are miles apart. Much easier to drive a trailer tank to the farm, than drive tractor to the tank. And the diesel is cheaper than delivery

I see tons of no longer used overhead tanks at our co-ops

But then, if you just have one farm, do as said above, find a farmer who has switched from overhead to trailer.
