I know absolutely nothing about airsoft rifles. When I was a kid I had a cheap spring-load BB gun that was incredibly inaccurate but fun to shoot. I'd like to get a rifle my kids can use for target practice inside our barn. I realize that accuracy is going to be an issue, but would like for them to get used to aiming a gun and trying to hit what they are aiming at.

Can anyone make any recommendations for an airsoft rifle that kids could use for indoor target practice? Thanks

Why not a bb or pellet gun? I would think they'd be more accurate and you can easily hear when you shoot an empty can. We used to put a heavy mat behind the target and pick up bbs and reuse them

It probably depends on how much you want to put into any gun - whether airsoft or BB. I have seen video of airsoft setups used overseas in places like the UK, Australia and Europe that seemed very accurate.

Some costing hundreds of dollars and highly customized. Different springs, barrels, and different weight airsoft bb's.

When using replica airsoft you can teach good weapon handling lessons. It is like fun dry firing and manipulation of all the controls training for kids.

For handguns I'd consider the glock replicas that are exactly like their real counterparts. For a rifle any AR clone. Do battery powered for the AR and gas magazines for the Glock.

Airsoft will have a "hop up" feature that basically affects the spin rate of the pellet. It can be adjusted, but don't expect much difference. You can get repeatability form an airsoft, but in my experience you can't walk it close to the limits of the sight picture. Might be good to teach kentucky windage tho.

The old Daisy Powerline pellet/bb gun is still hard to beat.
