Been seeing a ton of these in hunting adds recently. Are people actually wearing the ankle high boots out in the field? I can see them being a decent option in summertime but besides that I don't get the appeal. Curious if anyone has an opinion on these in terms of pros and cons ?

I only bought a pair to keep in my work vehicle to wear on rainy days after soaking through a pair of shoes and socks multiple times this Spring. Then the rain stopped and they turned into my yard work shoes. I have the Xtratuf brand - comfortable and easy to slip on.

I wouldn't wear them in the field unless I had to.

I have a pair of Muck brand ankle boots that look about the same. I wear them occasionally and have had them several years. I recommend them for dewy mornings and crossing small creeks.

Waterproof, warm, slip on/off, clean with a hose. Got a pair of xtra tuffs I use for yard work that have been nice.

Orderd some 8" boots from from Helly hansen because it looked like they had a sole that would grip on snow and ice. They light weight and can confirm grip on snow and ice and mud. Big step up from normal cajun Reeboks.

Also look at brand called Grundens.

I wear Simms ankle boots every day running the boat. Im on about my 4th pair. I had some Extra Tuffs for that duty as well but they have been retired to yard chores when it's damp.
