Been about a decade since I've bought a gun. I've read Texas banned credit card companies from blocking gun purchases

But I remember around 2014 or so that card companies wouldn't allow gun purchases.

Anyone have any insights? Any major law changes in Texas? I really haven't paid attention for the last 8 years to Texas gun laws

There has been a couple of pushes lately to assign gun stores their own code so purchases can be tracked easier. The card companies were all for it when it first got brought up. The backlash made them all do a 180, but apparently a few are pushing for it again. Currently sporting good stores can get away with a generic code meaning you have no idea if it was a gun or a basketball. But they are looking to try and carve out a special code for gun and ammo purchases so they can track it that way. Bad enough they have to keep the 4473 indefinitely now, but they also want to track via a credit card.

You can buy a gun on a card. Most are bought on a card.

I've used cash, credit card and PayPal for fun purchases. If you use PayPal to pay someone don't put anything in the memo line because it's against the TOS. Also be damn sure you are comfortable with the purchase if PayPal and an individual because there are no do overs or fraud reimbursements since you are t supposed to use it for guns. Lol.
