I have a 1999 VIP Bay Stealth I need to sell. It has a 150 Yamaha on it, jack plate, 24v trolling motor, 2020 Coastline trailer. What is the best way to sell this? Consignment at boat dealer, facebook? boat trader?

Facebook classifieds good. Also Boat Trader and Texas Fishing Forum. As far as a dealer….. depends if you have a relationship built with one that you can trust.

If you're anywhere near Houston/ galveston consign it in kemah at www.gulfcoastboatingcenter.com/sell-your-boat/ they only take 10% and are one of the few that will take a boat that old. You will waste a ton of time and end up practically giving it away trying to sell it via the normal channels this time of year

Put pictures, details, location, and price up here. An OB'er might save you the trouble.

Would add that retail sales in all segments of the marine industry have been very suppressed in the last two years due to interest rates and the economy. There has been a number of dealers nationwide that have gone out of business or reorganized.
Dealers have had issues with selling non current product and also trying to keep their inventories very low due to inflated floor plan cost.
However in the last two months there has been a modest increase in sales in both new and used boats.

Typically at this time of year, prospective boat buyers will be on a search for a "deal" as lots of folks decide to sell their boats ….as it's the end of the boating season for some people and now is the time they try to dump them.

I will caution you on taking it to a dealer at this time of year as consignment boats have very low profitability for the selling dealer and they may sit on the lot with little activity during the winter months.
If you typically keep your boat inside under cover to keep it nice it would be a negative to have it sit outside at a dealer during these slow sales months and deteriorate in condition.
The hot selling season, especially for fishing boats, usually starts in January when all the boat shows crank up. That would be, most likely, a better time to sell it to make the most $$$.
Certainly no harm in posting it now and seeing what response you get.
