I like federal blue box.

What # shot I'm using depends a lot on what/where/when I'm hunting.
Private land or early season when ducks will decoy, #4 and #5 work great. Public land and/or late season when it's more pass shooting I like #3s or I'll shoot #2s if I think big ducks will be prevalent.

I think it's best answered based on how you're hunting. Decoying close distance shots only/mostly? More further out pass by shots? Are you hunting big ducks only or more teal, etc mixed in?

For ducks, lately Boss #5 bismuth for my old 16...otherwise Kent Faststeel 3" 1425fps #3 or Boss #5 2 3/4"

Decoyed geese or crane, same except Boss 3/5 or Faststeel BB.

For big ducks I'll use either 3.5" or 3" migra stacked shot 2/4's.
