Been bow hunting since 1976. Our part of the county didn't have much in the way of deer. I have taken quite a few turkey with a bow but no deer. Finally got the monkey off my back this morning. Double lunged a 5pnt at 20 yds. This one tops all the bucks I've taken with a gun, as far as sense of accomplishment goes.
Now to start thinking about what sausage I want to make!

San Saba county. Deer just started getting some good numbers in our area around 15-20 years ago and the bucks have been getting bigger the past 5 or so years.
Talked to some of the larger property owners and they started walking anything less than 13-14" with 8pnts or less, same as I've been doing.
My last tag, hopefully I'll fill during regular season. There are two I've had on camera that are 11 & 13 pnts. There 11 is close to 18" and the 13 looks to be between 22-24".
