Applications are now open for the 2025 Texas Brigades summer camp season! I highly recommend this program for any kid aged 13-17, whether they have an interest in the outdoors or not. Each camp focuses on a different wildlife species (quail, deer, coastal fisheries, inland fisheries, ranch management or waterfowl) and teaches a crash course in wildlife biology, habitat management, conservation and land stewardship, while also teaching critical life skills such as public speaking, teamwork, leadership, etc. In addition to kids aged 13-17, we also need adults to serve as "Adult Leaders" throughout the week of camp. You get to participate in all activities the kids do and learn so much while in attendance.
I attended the North Texas Buckskin Brigade in 2010 and have maintained an active presence ever since. I now volunteer with the Rolling Plains Bobwhite Brigade and sit on the Board of Directors. This program changed my life and continues to do so with so many people who attend a Texas Brigades camp.
BONUS: Kids who attend camp and return to their communities to spread the word about the program can earn their way back to camp for a second year, where they will receive a college scholarship for their efforts!
Let me know if you have any questions about the program! Applications close March 15.
