Is that turkey a Merriam's or a Rio Grande? i am not sure.

the merriams i shot had more white on the tail

according to the distribution map they are Merriams but I agree the tips are not as white as I expected. My sons turkey tips were even browner than mine. It does look like ND does shows Easterns and we took these within 5 miles of the border so it possible these were hybrids.
