How long do you want to ignore this user?
Because the outdoors board knows thing
My folks have too many dogs and too many chickens and a part time housekeeper that is not real busy

tried google couldn't find what I was looking
Kept getting recipes that had ground turkey or other things that I would have to buy at HEB Pretty sure I will have to buy rice but a 10 pound bag of rice is pretty cheap

thought I would try here
TIA

Probably gonna need more/different proteins than just eggs.

Hell, "farm" eggs are like $3-4 a dozen. Sell em, and buy pork/turkey/cheap meat.

On the dirt road my folks live on farm fresh eggs are not four dollars a dozen and I'm not planning on getting into the egg business

These are also older dogs are there protein requirements are less
I also have free fish that I can pull out of my pond
And I don't mind buying some ground meat just don't want it to be the first or second ingredient on the list

I mean.

You probably want a max of 15-20% protein for older dogs, the rest is fillers/grains/veggies.

Pick your poison on grain and veggies (carrots and peas would be my choice). Mix it all up, cook till meat is med rare+, freeze in individual packages and boom.

Shouldn't add any seasoning and be careful of salt content if you're not buying fresh or frozen veggies.

Maybe not the answer you're looking for but we have an old toy poodle. Not much of a dog really.

We buy a rotisserie chicken from costco. Eat the breast meat and maybe a drumstick, and then I throw the whole carcass in a pot of water. Boil it for an hour or so. Then I pick the bones out and finely chop the meat and cartilage. Boil some rice with the broth, then I mix it all together with about 10-15 percent of fancy dog food. About 10% dog food, 40% rice (boiled in chicken broth), and 50% chicken.

If these dogs are large and eat a lot it may not be worth it, but for a small dog its pretty easy and we get at least one meal out of it too.

She's gotten noticeably healthier since we started this.

General recipe for about 4 cups of food:

1 cup uncooked brown rice along with enough water to cook it
1 large carrot
1 head of broccoli
1 head of cauliflower
(or just get a 8 oz frozen bag of the above already chopped aka 1/4 of a large bag)
1 lb of meat of your choice
2 eggs

Make the rice, then basically make a stir fry or fried rice with the rest. If OP wants to go full egg, then make it just over a pound of eggs. I find that dogs tend to get the runs if eggs are their sole protein source for any extended period of time, might just be mine...

I give my dog scrambled eggs all the time.

Scramble a bunch of eggs and mix with rice. Serve as a meal, treat, or on top of their regular food.

Crack a bunch of eggs in a sheet pan and bake them, with or without scrambling the yolks.

Don't forget to use the eggshells as a meal topper.

If they are trying to save money they can get rid of the house keeper since they aren't real busy anyway.
