I have a Bermuda lawn that was sodded about 60% in the backyard a few years ago.. The Bermuda has spread fairly well but I have some pockets of Bahia Grass that I treat with MSM, but I am wondering what I can use to treat yellow bluestem, Dallis Grass, goose grass, and spurge. I also have some pockets of purple nutsedge that I am about to spray with Image nutsedge killer.

Is it that time of year to put down a preemergent as well?

Yes on the pre-em if you want to suppress poa. MSMA is pretty much your only option as far as dallisgrass but it's frowned upon. Not sure if it would take care of the bluestem or not. We just spray round up or pull it. 2,4-d will take care of the spurge but if it's too hot (temp and the concentration) it may burn the bermuda a bit. I haven't seen anything that works well ok goosegrass. I've sprayed it with celsius + MSO spiked with a little liquid fert and it makes it look a little sickly but never really kills it.

I bought a post emergent on Amazon called Celsius. Cost around $15. Mix it in a sprayer with some dial dish soap.

Dallisgrass- spot treat with roundup or msma+certianty
Bluestem- 2 apps of roundup at light rates (2 oz/A) about 21 days apart
Goosegrass- dismiss + revolver
Spurge- Celsius

Dallisgrass- glyphosate and let Bermuda fill in on its own.
Spurge- Celsius
Sedge-certainty. Slow but thorough kill

Yes to pre emergent as nights will be in the 50s consistently starting Wednesday.

Which roundup should I buy to spot shoot the dallisgrass? There is so many versions it seems like.

I also have some RM43 in the garag.

I have a ton of yellow blue stem, looks like a wheat field flowing in my backyard right now

Also can I mix up a batch up image nutgrass spray, celsius , and MSM all together to spot spray everything instead of doing separate batches?

Just FYI, "Roundup" used to be the trade name for glyphosate weed killer.

Monsanto now uses Roundup as the name for all their line of weed killers, regardless of the active ingredient

Almost none of them contain glyphosate

Thats what I thought....when I looked at the ingredients I didnt see glyphosate... so what is the exact product I should get? I know the RM43 contains it but is there a "lesser" version I should use for this application?

The last retail glyphosate I bought was at Tractor Supply. You probably won't find it at Home Depot or Lowe's. Check the active ingredient on the label.

I think the guys above are giving you good advice. When they say "roundup" they likely mean glyphosate, and they mean spot spraying, as it kills everything

RM43 has has a salt in that will kill everything for several months (Think bare dirt).

I use it on our fencelines.

thats what I have been using rm43 for as well but nothing else seems to have glyphosate in it...its misleading to say roundup since roundup doesnt contain it anymore but the issue is I have not been able to find it elsewhere. I can look at tractor supply, I just want to spot spray several clumps of this stuff to see if I can break the cycle.

That's the herbicide active ingredient Imazapyr. Long residual.

Tractor supply is the easiest retail store to buy concentrated glyphosate. Their house brands are FarmWorks. Likely need to add some surfactant to the mix as generics don't contain much or any adjuvant. Some ammonium sulfate dissolved in your sprayer prior to adding herbicide is a good idea as well.

Now, as in right now like the next few days before the next cold front - get a pre-emergent down. Won't do anything for what's already growing but will keep a lot of the fall and winter weeds growth at bay.

Unsolicited sedge advice: just get Sedgehammer and avoid the misery of trying to kill that stuff with just about anything else. I halfway destroyed my St Augustine in spots with a sedge treatment from Home Depot and just barely offended the sedge in my lawn. Ponied up for the Sedgehammer and wow I wish someone had told me before

What was the suggestion for yellow bluestem?

I believe it falls into the glyphosate category as well. I have an issue with some king ranch bluestem and that's the only thing successful unfortunately
