Go get on em! Big healthy bullreds out there eating everything. Get some dead shrimp to catch live sand trout or croaker or even hard heads. Then put those out on a big circle hook and the fight is on. They eating em.... sardines.... shad....whatever. Good fishing with willing participants. Great stuff.

Recipe:
-Cut into chicken nugget size finger food pieces.
-Use the red liquid crab boil concentrate in some buttermilk for seasoning. Let it soak a lil. If you like a lot of seasoning use more and let it soak longer.
-Then roll it in half and half with Louisiana Fish Fry and flake mashed potatoes in the box. Fry it up. Never any complaints folks love it kids love it.

In the jump box thread I literally list the half dozen or so instances I have a faced a dead battery in my vehicles and boats.

And I have said many times that with proper habitat, we cannot affect a fishery with rod and reel. That there are many impactors. And if they would limit the other impactors proportionally as they do the rod and reel limits I would be allllll for it. But they only hit the recreational fisherman's limits and the commercial impactors continue to result in habitat decline....it's an opinion based on the data I see from Texas Parks and Wildlifes own charts. Who are the best on the coast by far with this data. Their data never shows where limit changes have ever resulted in more fish. In all of their data....in all of their charts. They have only changed their limits due to public pressure. Ask them....they will tell you the same thing.

Most of my customers catch and release. Have countless trips where they catch and release dozens of those big jokers till they just cant fight em any more. I have all the barotrauma tools for proper release and because I anchor with my trolling motor we will pick up and quickly move to recover, revive, and properly release at depth those fish that are struggling on the surface due to barotrauma when improperly handled on other vessels up current around us.....

I also have the tools to filet them if customers want them. Who am I to judge their taste buds. Enjoy. My best recipe for those big jokers is above.

Redfish are not in decline. There are more than ever. Trout however are. And those big reds eat more trout in a day than most people can catch in a month. So a healthy balance is necessary....hence the second tag TPWD want you to use.

By commercial impactors I mean dredging giant shipping lanes that change hydrology affecting the mixing of salt and fresh water in the bays.....
Once thriving grassy shorelines of estuaries covered in dredge mud.
Bulkheads everywhere.
Chemical leaks.
Industrial spills.
Pollution from industry that just pay the fines and keep on.
Poorly managed oystering. Galveston area lost 85% of their oyster reefs after Hurricane Harvey. Less than 4% have come back. Why? There are water quality issues and we are losing seagrasses.
There are countless commercial impactors.
