Got a an email from Europtic today that they are blowing out Sitka due to a difference in values. Wondering what I missed here?

Does anyone know what they did to piss them off?

That's wild. Their waders are never on sale, not with pro discount or anything. So if you ever wanted a pair, probably would be hard pressed to find a better price than $715 until they discontinue them for a new model in the future. For me, I'll stick with Simms stocking foot and a separate pair of boots.

Yeah I found mine on sale but it was only $200 off. This is a steal for those waders!

Gore owns Sitka. AKA Goretex

Aw. My initial thought was Gore Tex related. But I never bothered to look up who owned gore Tex. Gore and Associates.

I started wearing Sitka in the early 2000s before it was instagram cool to now instagram gay. A lot of what makes them good and bad is being associated with Gore. They get the top tear goretex membranes but being owned by a company in Delaware they also have some warts. I like their goretex fabrics and it works for me so I will tolerate a little dumbness. They also outfit Arcteryx which is a top tier mountaineering brand. So having that type of tech trickle into the mountain hunting clothing is a plus.

Not sure how true this is, but I heard the reason behind this is that Sitka is making future plans to move to direct to consumer selling. They will be phasing out retailers and middlemen and that something related to this upset Eurooptic leading to this sale

That does seem to be the model. Kuiu started out direct sales and added a bunch of women's, casual, and whitetail clothing, first lite moved to that model. The problem is you piss off your retailers when you make the switch, that is the leading theory for the reason behind euro optic's sale and banner message.

Damn...like half of Scheel's hunting clothing section is Sitka. That's gonna be a big gap to fill
