The hardest I was ever hit on a football field was against the Mason cowpunchers, I got knocked completely silly on punt coverage. In today's game, they would've put me in concussion protocol for a couple of weeks. Back in 1987. I think I was allowed to take two plays off and then go back in lol.

Per Google maps that is the home side. Visitor side has maybe 10 rows, typical for a small school.
It is pretty creative. Use them for this year and then sell to deer hunters for permanent stands. There are no shortage of buyers in that county.

Pretty creative considering there was talk just a week ago that they wouldn't be able to use the field at all.

A thunderstorm in May tore the roof off the press box, which sat on top of the old wood truss roof structure that covered the wooden stands and bleachers. Google Mason Puncher Dome since I'm too lolpoor to post pics. Really neat stadium; maybe the best in Texas. The roof structure also suffered damage and was declared unsafe to occupy, so they demo'd it this week just in time for football season. We bid on that part but someone else won the job.
We'll get a second chance at the design and reconstruction to recreate the old wood truss look after the football season is over.
The community support in Mason is just awesome. I'd bet someone loaned those deer blinds for the press boxes and expected nothing in return.

That must be on the visitors side. 3 years ago we went to one of their home games and the home bleachers were entirely covered. I had never seen anything like it. Maybe it was a former rodeo arena.
Was surprised to see so many fans in such a small town. Great atmosphere. Mas Jr had a bye week from his season so we went hunting nearby and went to the game after dinner.

I had the same thought as soon as I saw this.
I frequented Mason Feed Store for almost 30 years. Those people are absolutely the best of the best.
