I'm looking for a shotgun sleeve that's easily packable/foldable to put in a bag when not in use, but something more than a gun sock. Taking a dove trip where I'm flying and checking a hard case and want something easier to carry to the field each day so I can leave the hard airline case at the house. Any ideas appreciated.

Why not a gun sock? It sounds like what you need.

I like this Flambeau Velcro flap to keep my truck shotgun in. Doesn't take up much space and more protection for the gun than a gun sleeve. Keeps dust and dirt out of the gun.

For a hunting shotgun I use a soft gun case with an adjustable shoulder strap a big zipper pouch on the side for ear plugs and other supplies. Have found some good ones at Walmart and academy over the years.

Thanks, I've used a sock before but we're in a group and we end up putting all of our gear together and I'd like a little more protection than just a sock. And a regular soft case it too bulk to fold/pack up in a bag to check on the plane.

I keep the zipper lubed with silicone. The small resealable tubes from the plumbing section in Lowe's are great or I'll use the chapstick looking stuff I got from Yeti.

They have just enough room for a couple boxes of ammo or mags, if I'm using it for a rifle.

Not sure what kind of travel case you have but lately I have been taking my Pelican breakdown case. I removed the middle foam section. I just fold my Drake soft case in half and put in the Pelican case. I'm not a fan of just a gun sleeve either. Soft case will also fit in bottom of a roller duffel without too much problem.

When I traveled to hunt seaducks in AK this winter, we took all of the padding out of the Pelican gun case and packed clothes and shells in the case. As long as it didn't weigh more than 50 pounds you were good to go.

I will see what I can put together. It was definitely an epic trip. Getting closer to 41. Aggie buddy tripled on Pacs. Only opportunity our group had that week
