They seem lost.

That's by the campus golf course.

We have a bunch here on lake LBJ. From contacts with western Canada hunting outfitters I'm guessing that they have fled Trudeaus Canada.

I had a pair stay over the summer at my lake last year and the year before. In Robertson County. And had one chasing some over-curious calves a couple of weeks ago before the mama cows chased it into a pond.

What are they even able to find to eat around there! How far does a goose fly before stopping to rest/eat/gas up?

That is possibly the group that was at my place last year. The goose and gander on right raised a clutch of 5 and something ravaged one gosling about a month after hatching. It did not survive.
They left around August of 2023 and we saw them in town on the golf course a week later.
They came back this spring, all 6, for about 3 weeks but a rat snake got into the nest and they left. I saw the same 6 on the golf course later that week.

Is there a BuCee's on campus that I've missed?

Many Canadian geese live in Texas year round. Golf courses are always full of them.

We had to exterminate a lot of them last year as they were becoming a nuisance on a few holes next to our lake.

East TX Lake: They come back every year. Started with a pair... now up to over 30. Starting to be a nuisance - their poop is big & slimy. Some people out here love them. We try to make them change direction when swimming our way.

Let's hope one appears nearby Olsen/Bluebell Park sometime soon! (or at least some sorta facsimile of…)

Year round Canada geese everywhere now. They especially love golf courses.

As far as what they eat, I see them grazing in the pasture. Not sure if it's grass or weeds.

San Jose State has a creative solution to their geese problem.

See a lotta these on San Antonio area golf courses, along with a few scattered ducks (green heads). Aren't the Canadians good eating? They've long been a popular game bird, so assume so.

Every time I have played golf in San Antonio in the last 2 years I have seen them. Fair Oaks was loaded with them. They're also around a lot of places here in Houston too.

I've never eaten Canada goose but imagine they're good eating as much grass as they eat. The only time I shot them I left the meat in CO with a buddy.
