Anyone else getting hammered by them? They popped up big time. I assume they will kill my trees if left untreated, correct? Anything I can do to knock them down once on the trees out of reach?

Bifen XTS has treatment for them on label and I have it on hand so was going to try that. Anyone had any luck with it? Tips for treatment time or anything like that? I really don't want my trees to die.

No Sod Webworms in trees is walking through the yard in the morning or late evening you see a lot of white moths fly up then you have Sod Webworms starting. About time for them, if you do find them spray every week for three weeks to break the egg cycle. As a preventive measure spray about every 21 days for the next few months.

I'm no expert, but isn't part of their life cycle making the web "bags" in the trees? At least that is what my understanding is and maybe I am completely wrong. Either way, There were a ton of moths the other day when I mowed amd there are webs in a handful of trees and I thought the two were related. I am perfectly happy to be wrong and given the correct culprit, I just want to know if I can hit the property with bifen xts and will it help? What is the correct course of action for the webs I can reach?

Makes perfect sense

The web worms are bad around SETX right now. Generally, they are not harmful to your trees. I get a few trees every year that get them. If they bother you or start getting really bad, you can treat with a good insecticide soil drench.

I will say, they have arrived a lot earlier this year.

I leave them or open the web up for predators to eat.

Still had a lot of moths in the yard so will treat with bifen xts and open up assay as the webs as I can. They are making my trees ugly and I have some smaller trees that look completely dead.

My kids lose their minds at every caterpillar like its the coolest thing ever even though we are seeing 2 billion per day.

My chickens won't touch them or salt marsh caterpillars. But don't stick a hornworm through the fence at them. You might lose a finger.

You can just tear open the tents, too, if you don't want to use insecticide.

I have them in BCS for the first time in 15 years. Apparently you can continually spray them out with a high pressure water nozzle. After a while they'll go away.
