Live in a semi urban environment with too many varmints Any suggestions on a 22 mag that can be easily suppressed?
Thank you. I have 15 acres just outside of town that has a creek on the back side. I would likely be looking to shoot around 100 yards at coons, coyotes, skunks and probably pigs.Dirty-8-thirty Ag said:
I shoot (outside of the city limits) a Savage B22M with a factory threaded muzzle and a SiCo sparrow. It's a very very accurate gun. I love it so much it stays in my pickup at all times for checking water and fence. Haven't put the can on any other gun in years.

ATF ALERT!
I bought some today and the big packs of CCI now say subsonic despite having standard velocity (1050 fps) speeds. They used to say standard velocity and the subsonic labeled boxes were 710 fps and wouldn't cycle a semi auto. I shoot standard velocity out of my suppressed 10/22 charger and it sounds like a BB gun, cycles perfectly, and is more consistent than the bulk high velocity rounds.CactusThomas said:
Standard velocity 22lr is subsonic. No need to buy the crappy subsonic labeled stuff.

Check out the 17WSM. It outperforms the .22mag in all areas and is the biggest rimfire available. Ammo availability has recently improved, as has rifles chambered for it.
But for quietness and what you are targeting (while mindful of neighbors close by), stick with a surpressed 300blk subsonic setup.

CMR 30 made by Keltec
The magazine holds 30 rounds.
I also have PMR 30 which is a companion pistol to the carbine.
The magazines from the pistol will fit in the CMR 30 and visa versa. It's a ton of fun shooting these two firearms. There is no recoil but loud as can be. Always fun watching a fireball come out of the muzzle. It's great shooting 30 rounds before you have to reload. Both firearms have threaded barrels.
I can vouch for the lack of noise w/the above. However, there is no way the OP is going to be able to kill coons and coyotes at 100 yards with CB Caps.87Flyfisher said:
A bolt action .22 with CB Caps is quieter than most high velocity air rifles. It just takes a few shots to adjust the sights or scope to hit at urban distances

Quiet and thumps. Too much drop at 100 or more yards as he said he intends to shoot.
It's a little over 100 yards from my barn down to the treeline along the creek. This is where you see most animals before dark, so I certainly want something that easily reaches out to 100mhnatt said:AgLA06 said:mhnatt said:

Since the OP only has 15 acres, I would not be making decisions for 100+
He didn't ask you opinion on what he's doing. He asked the best way to do it.mhnatt said:AgLA06 said:mhnatt said:
